Presents as firm, keloidal papules and plaques specifically on the posterior neck and occipital scalp, not in the beard distribution.
Caused by ingrown hairs, resulting in inflammatory papules at the site of shaving, but lacks the broken, infected hairs and positive fungal culture of tinea.
