Chilblain lupus erythematosus

This is a specific form of lupus, distinguished by the presence of other signs of lupus and positive serology (e.g., ANA), where the chilblain-like lesions are a manifestation of the underlying autoimmune disease.

Lupus pernio

This is a specific, chronic form of sarcoidosis presenting as violaceous, indurated plaques and nodules on the nose, ears, and cheeks, a different pathology and appearance than the acute, cold-induced lesions of perniosis.
